Recently, we were notified by her family that Barbara (Shannon) Richardson, Class of 1985, passed away in October, 2025. Barbara loved her time at Burke, and had just attended her 40th reunion, having a blast, before being diagnosed with a fast-growing brain cancer.
Barbara was in band and color guard at Burke and she was a Burke band and guard mom from 2005-2019 🖤💛
Pictured in Burke's stadium is Stephanie (Richardson) Hovorka (2009), Barbara (1985), Jonathan Richardson (2019), and Sarah (Richardson) Dahlstrom (2014).
❤️This Valentine’s week is a time to celebrate love in all its forms — and to remember those we’ve loved and lost. Barbara's family’s deep ties to Burke remind us what it means to be part of this lasting Bulldog family❤️

So cool that our Burke students can learn how to fly a drone! Many of these students will get certified while at Burke and go into careers with drones....all because of this awesome Air & Burke Air and Space Academy offered at Burke!
And fun side note....one of the teachers, Ms. Dara Rosenberg, is a 1998 Burke Bulldog herself! 🖤💛 #YouCanFly

Sadly, the Class of 2015 recently lost a Bulldog. Andrew Klein passed January 31st.
Andrew was known to be smart, charismatic, witty and charming and also a major film buff.
Andrew and passed Bulldogs are memorialized at burkehighalumni.com/deceased-alumni/ with school pictures.

The family will gather at Beth El Synagogue (14506 California St) from 6-8pm on Wednesday, February 4th for all who would like to share a story or pay their respects.

From the first annual Alumni Twinkie Races a couple weeks ago! Our first ever champion is 2016 Burke graduate Alex Frisbie. Former bulldogs from the classes of 1992 through 2021 showed up to give their all in the pool!
