Unfortunately, we lost another Bulldog last month. M'Shae Johnson, Class of 1992, passed Jan 22. During her time at Burke, she participated in the Gospel Choir and Flag Team. She also had the honor of going to Japan. Soon after graduating she knew she was going into the medical field. She began to work around the city in different facilities touching lives. Everywhere she worked she left an impact.

Recently, we were notified by her family that Barbara (Shannon) Richardson, Class of 1985, passed away in October, 2025. Barbara loved her time at Burke, and had just attended her 40th reunion, having a blast, before being diagnosed with a fast-growing brain cancer.
Barbara was in band and color guard at Burke and she was a Burke band and guard mom from 2005-2019 🖤💛

❤️This Valentine’s week is a time to celebrate love in all its forms — and to remember those we’ve loved and lost. Barbara's family’s deep ties to Burke remind us what it means to be part of this lasting Bulldog family❤️

So cool that our Burke students can learn how to fly a drone! Many of these students will get certified while at Burke and go into careers with drones....all because of this awesome Air & Burke Air and Space Academy offered at Burke!
And fun side note....one of the teachers, Ms. Dara Rosenberg, is a 1998 Burke Bulldog herself! 🖤💛 #YouCanFly
