Sadly, the Class of 1986 lost a great Bulldog. Damone Avant passed last month from Early Onset Alzheimers. While at Burke, Damone was well-known as not only a great guy, but a great athlete- excelling in football and basketball. Damone can also be seen on Burke's Wall of Champions for his athletic abilities.
Damone was a beloved and respected community figure who dedicated his life to uplifting others through coaching, fatherhood, and his work with the Douglas County Youth Center and Urban League.
Services will be April 18 & 19 in Omaha, with an evening honoring Damone and proceeds going to the family on Sunday, April 20th at Red Lion Lounge on 38th & Farnam from 7pm-10pm (info in attached pics).
Pictured is Damone and some Bulldog friends after the Holiday 🏀Tournament "terrorizing McDonalds"🖤💛 Our thoughts go out to all that knew Damone. Damone and other passed Bulldogs are memorialized at burkehighalumni.com/deceased-alumni/
