Sadly, we've been informed of 2 recent alumni passings.
1973 grad Debra Quigley Ficken. One of Debra's favorite subjects at Burke was home economics. The knowledge and skills she learned in those classes became a meaningful part of her life, reflected in the loving home she created, the tea parties she enjoyed hosting, and the care and kindness she showed to children and everyone around her.
Services for Debra are today in Omaha.

1991 grad Joe Krosko. Joe's love of performing began in his drama classes at Burke and continued for many years through his participation in Renaissance Faires and Dickens in the Market. He was also a dedicated sign language interpreter who delighted in communicating with others through ASL, building connections wherever he went.
Services for Joe will be held tomorrow (Friday) in Omaha.

🏆 Remember a few months ago when we shared plans to restore, preserve, and relocate the Hall of Champions to Burke’s new athletic entrance?
Thanks to a dedicated group of volunteers and the incredible generosity of Bulldog supporters, that vision is becoming a reality!
✨ The transformation is officially underway. We are carefully removing every photo from the walls so they can be professionally scanned and restored. Years of discoloration and aging will be corrected, and each photo will be reprinted, uniformly sized, and properly labeled. The finished display will not only preserve Burke’s rich athletic history—it will truly be a work of art.

If you have a flathead screwdriver and/or a putty knife, please bring them along. Most importantly, we’re looking for volunteers who can help carefully remove nails, plexiglass, and photos with care.

Here's another one we need help with as we prepare to take down and digitize our beloved Hall of Champions! We are carefully removing the photos from the wall to have them digitally preserved and enhanced so we can reprint them and put them in the new athletic entrance where they will be seen by all who attend sporting events for generations to come.
What year was this basketball team? And do you know what they won? Metro? State Champs? 🖤🏀💛

Does anyone know who this Burke Baseball player is?
We're working to update/preserve/digitize and reprint the Sports Hall of Champions and there isn't any information for this player. We're thinking he was on a team in the late 90s.
Any info is appreciated! 🖤⚾💛
