Mr. David Haar was a beloved teacher who taught at Burke for 30 years. Sadly, he recently passed away unexpectedly at the age of 84.
From 1969-1999, Mr. Haar taught thousands of Bulldogs government, history, and also sponsored the Burke History Club.
Mr. Haar was known to make "a boring subject like history come to life and exciting to learn."
🖤💛We were lucky to have such a wonderful educator. He will certainly be missed.
A celebration of life will be held in Omaha January 11th.

Who all got chased down in the parking lot by Mr. Haar sneaking out for lunch? Just me? Also, he was responsible for bringing Attorney General Janet Reno to Burke to speak to the entire school! It was amazing!!! Thanks Mr. Haar!!
What a kind man. I have told people often that I think Mr, Harr’s world civilizations class was the most valuable history class I ever took. It gave me such a great perspective from which to draw even into adulthood as I try to make sense of the conflicts that occur in our world today. Thank you Mr. Harr. We were so fortunate to have had you.
I had him when I went to Burke, always treated us with lots of respect and had a passion for teaching government. I graduated in 1989. 🙏✌️
From the archives! Remember those sweet gym uniforms😜
No names or dates are listed, but guessing mid-90s. Bulldog Strong🦾

Class of 1996 for the second and third pics for sure!
Nothing is worse than the one piece gymsuits we had to wear in middle school. It was hard enough to be a middle school girl without having to endure those!
Genuinely I miss seeing all the kids in the uniforms. It’s so weird to me they don’t change out anymore!
Not sure on the year of this State Track photo from archives, but based on the camera and hair styles, guessing early-to-mid 1980s??
🖤💛

1986 or 87. Crystal Roberson graduated in 87. RIP my friend!
Crystal Roberson (my cousin in the middle) graduated in 1987, one year before I started attending when I was a sophomore. Sure wish I could have ran track at least one year with my cuzzo. RIP ❤️
Crystal! She was a great athlete and so sweet!
Oh today is going to be fun!

What happens to pictures not selected for the yearbook? Were those saved and might be available to purchase?
Good luck-enjoy the trip back in time
Digitize it, and then turn it back into a high school
